The first in a two-part series, this episode offers an introduction to the 3rd key of courageous self-expression – vulnerability. Candice speaks intimately about her childhood and how a legacy of trauma has informed her path in life. She speaks about the power and privilege of healthy emotional expression. In order to express what is most alive within our hearts, we must feel safe, seen, and held. And unfortunately, there are times when these resources are far beyond our reach. Using personal stories from her own life, she paints a vivid picture of how generational trauma gets passed down through generations; inviting us to soften in our approach so that we might approach vulnerability in ways that are more compassionate and inclusive. She ends the episode with three practices that will help you more easily connect with vulnerability in new and tangible ways.
